The Dating Advice That Landed in NY Times, TIME & Cosmopolitan

Jan 27, 2026

I'm finally sharing something I've been working on behind the scenes—a brand new press page that brings together years of media appearances, expert features, and podcast conversations all in one beautifully designed space.

If you've been following along for a while, you know that sharing evidence-based relationship insights through media has always been a passion of mine. But honestly? Every single one of these opportunities still feels a little surreal. Let me take you through the journey.

The New York Times TIME Fox News TODAY Cosmopolitan T-Mobile CBC Radio

The New York Times Features

When I first started my practice, being quoted in The New York Times felt like a distant dream—the kind of thing that happens to other people. I remember thinking, "Maybe someday, if I work really hard and get lucky..."

And then it happened. Twice.

January 2023 — The One That Changed Everything

I'll never forget getting the email from a New York Times reporter asking if I'd be interested in being interviewed for a piece about dating coaches and texting communication. I read it three times to make sure it was real.

The resulting feature ran in the Sunday print edition—Style section—on January 15, 2023. My Texting Communication Cure course was highlighted, along with the framework I'd developed after working with hundreds of clients who were completely baffled by texting dynamics.

Healthy communication education has always been missing, but because most people meet online these days, texting has become the medium for how people form their communication patterns.

— Kelsey Wonderlin, The New York Times

The piece explored the difference between "Dry Texters" and "Animated Texters"—something that sounds obvious now, but at the time, nobody was really talking about how our texting styles create (and destroy) connection before we even meet in person.

The Sunday the article came out, my inbox exploded. My website crashed twice. And within a week, I was getting interview requests from radio stations in Colombia and Canada. One New York Times feature, and suddenly the whole world wanted to talk about texting.

October 2025 — The Follow-Up

Two and a half years later, The Times came calling again. This time, Catherine Pearson from the Well section wanted to discuss something SO many of my clients struggle with: the psychological pressure women face when dating with biological timelines in mind.

You know that tension—wanting to find love organically while also being acutely aware of your fertility window? That quiet panic that makes you wonder if you're being "too picky" or "running out of time"? We talked about evidence-based strategies to navigate relationships with intentionality without letting anxiety take over.

Television & National News

There's something uniquely terrifying about live television. You can't edit. You can't take it back. You have about 90 seconds to make a point that might take 20 minutes to explain properly in a coaching session.

And yet—it's also incredibly rewarding to reach people who might never find their way to my Instagram or programs.

Breaking down the Marshall-Jackie-Josh triangle from Season 4. If you watched that season, you KNOW what a mess that was. I got to explain why it was such a mess. πŸ‘€

The Fox News appearance was particularly meaningful because it gave me a platform to push back against surface-level explanations for changing dating patterns. Yes, technology plays a role. But there's so much more going on—economic factors, shifting priorities, increased awareness of what healthy relationships actually look like.

Magazines & Publications

Magazine features are a different kind of fun. You have more space to explain nuance, and the quotes often get to be a bit more playful.

TIME Magazine — November 2023

When TIME reached out about a piece on family group chats, I laughed out loud. Who hasn't wanted to mute that one family thread? The article ran in the print edition on page 29, and I got to share one of my favorite pieces of advice:

Put the phone down for some period of time. Do an emotion-regulation activity, like taking deep breaths, going outside, or lighting a candle.

Revolutionary? No. But sometimes the most helpful advice is just permission to step away.

Cosmopolitan — 2025

Cosmo has become a regular home for my dating trend commentary. In October 2025, I explained the "Throning" trend—when people date for status instead of genuine connection. (Spoiler: it never ends well.) And in September, I contributed to their piece on the "Sit at the Bar September" movement, encouraging singles to meet people IRL instead of through apps.

Brand Partnerships & That Award

Some of my most exciting media work has come through brand journalism partnerships—long-form content that lets me really dig into a topic while reaching massive audiences.

Love in the Time of Texting
This one was special. Working with T-Mobile's content team, I helped create an in-depth piece exploring how texting has become our modern love language. We introduced my "four types of texters" framework to a mainstream audience—and the piece won an Honorable Mention from PR Daily for branded journalism.

I returned to T-Mobile in February 2024 for a follow-up piece called "Our New Crush: Voice Notes!"—a multimedia feature exploring how audio messaging creates deeper connection than text alone. (Hot take: voice notes are underrated and more people should use them.)

When Canada & Colombia Called

Remember what I said about that New York Times feature changing everything? Within a week of publication, I was doing international radio interviews.

CBC Radio's "Spark" — November 2023

Nora Young's show "Spark" is part of CBC's "Being Human Now" series—thoughtful, nuanced conversations about how technology is changing the way we live and connect. Our conversation explored intimacy, virtual communication, and the art of texting—how we've developed this entirely new form of communication without any real education on how to do it well.

We talked about the subtle signals people send through punctuation choices, response timing, and emoji use. How "k" means something completely different than "okay!" How the three dots appearing and disappearing can send someone into a spiral. It was the kind of deep-dive conversation I wish we could have more often.

Caracol Radio "La W" — January 2023

Just days after the New York Times feature, I did a live interview with Julio Sánchez Cristo on Colombia's La W program—one of the most-listened-to radio shows in Latin America. The segment reached millions of Spanish-speaking listeners, and we discussed digital dating trends and the texting dynamics that had just been featured in the Times.

It was my first international media appearance, and it drove home just how universal these struggles are. Whether you're dating in Nashville or Bogotá, the anxiety of "should I text first?" is the same.

Podcast Deep Dives

Honestly? Podcasts might be my favorite media format. There's something magical about having an hour to really explore a topic—to get into the nuance and complexity that a 30-second soundbite just can't capture.

Other podcast highlights that I'm particularly proud of:

  • Coping With Ghosting (Vogue-Featured, October 2025) — "Will They Ghost Me? How to Spot the Signs in Dating" with Gretta Perlmutter. We got real about the subtle warning signs that someone is about to disappear.
  • Ask Women Podcast (January 2025) — "The Female Perspective: What Women Really Want" — I got to share the unfiltered version of what my clients actually tell me they're looking for.
  • Psych Talk with Jessica Rabon (November 2020) — An early deep-dive into codependency and self-esteem patterns. This episode still gets shared in my DMs regularly.

Why This Matters

The Bigger Picture

Every media appearance, article, and interview is an opportunity to reach people who might be struggling with the same relationship challenges my clients face every day. Someone scrolling through Cosmopolitan at 2am might read one line that shifts their perspective. A commuter listening to CBC might hear something that finally helps them understand why texting has been so hard.

This work is about creating ripples—tiny moments of clarity that spread outward and (hopefully) make love a little less confusing for a lot of people.

The new press page brings all of these moments together in one place—video clips, full article links, podcast episodes with listening links, and organized sections for easy navigation.
